Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and storytelling skills. Collaborating with WKAR staff and students, you will develop multimedia content aligned with WKAR’s mission to inspire, educate, and inform our audiences. Key emphasis will be on serving current audiences while identifying and producing content that helps WKAR capture new audiences. This position must stay up to date on current industry trends, therefore optimizing content for audiences utilizing various distribution platforms. As a multimedia producer, you must have a keen attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.

ComArtSci is home to five academic units, the deans office, and one service unit (WKAR), with 500+ employees, and 3,000+ students who choose ComArtSci as their home away from home. This position has opportunity for a hybrid working schedule with a minimum of two days per week in-office. Remote work agreements are continuously reviewed based on the needs of the organization

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong interest and experience in public media as defined by the Corporation of Public Broadcasting
  • Excellent storytelling and creative skills, with a keen eye for detail and
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to execute based on established content strategy and pitch/create new content for new audiences
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced
  • Demonstrate a history of creative problem solving
  • Knowledge of social media/industry trends and content optimization based on distribution platform
